Auction is the best way to have true price discovery. If everyone sold at auction I believe we would have a more realistic market price. We put some on the fed cattle exchange this summer and they did very well, I was super happy and will probably market all ours that way going forward.
+1, if everyone just sold directly to the packers, what would the price eventually be?
Guys still selling at the salebarns are taking one for the team for sure, and after reading threads on here for years, few realize it and even less appreciate it.
