Chebanse, IL..... | We've had one on a 10-31 electric Westfield for a few yrs now. They work fine.
A couple of downsides, but not deal breakers.
They add weight and length to the lower end of the auger, making it a little harder to move. Yes, we have the wheel jack. But, our solution was to bolt chain hooks to the hopper and pick it up with a compact tractor loader and move it from bin to bin. It's a total one-man operation that way.
We have a couple of bins that were built with unload too low to the ground. Those still require using an auger (another Westfield 10-31) with an enclosed collapsible hopper to sit in a hole.
The flat hoppers seem to be a little harder to clean out. Compressed air from service truck seems to be best cleanout solution. |
