Hasn't been anything easy about this yr. It's been god awful dry, only broken up by flood level rain events that make it look like we're (only) 10" behind on paper, and one of the worst heat spells in 40 yrs. Cows looked like hell by September and I had a terrible breed back because heat and poor conditioning from lack of grass.
Was fortunate not to lose any to the heat inspite of the stress and my freezer beef steers did really well this year as well so we trudge on. Dang sure didn't break the bank with profits, but didn't declare bankruptcy either.
So I guess we live to fight another day.
