Thanks for sharing. I planted soys into standing rye this year. The timing of my burndown and the extreme dry spell really hurt my emergence, and stunted the beans terribly. I might look at trying rye ahead of my corn now. Also at just so you know, we have about the same expectations for corn yields. 175 is a good year here.... Some call that crop failure. Glad it worked out for you, and yes it is hard to look at ugly crops all summer, when everyone else has a beautiful stand.
