Electric tarp on semi, is there a backup plan? Has ANYONE regretting doing it?

Not to be a total devil's advocate here, but if your help can't roll their own tarp, should they really be driving a semi grossing up to/over 80k?? Same goes for those putting electric traps on trailers and buying automatic semis.



Wait until you get a few years under your belt. You'll think differently about power tarps and power traps.
Do you have auto steer? Power windows in anything? Power steering? Automatic transmissions in anything? Buy your seed in bags instead of totes and a tender? Plant with markers instead of gps?
I've done the hand rolling and trap cranking. I retired from driving at the day job, where we had power tarps but manual traps on commercial hoppers. The doors were larger than ag hoppers, and would operate hard with feed ingredients and soybeans. I still drive some for my neighbors, hauling corn and beans to processors part time- they have power tarps and power traps. Wow, what difference at the end of the day.
