One mentioned the husco upgrade kit which just came out this year. Each scv used to have their own individual computer which were common to fail, could go through the entire set in 5000hrs, and cost $1000 each + service call to program them. But now Agco has come up with a kit to replace them with a single bigger computer. Some of these tractors are now 15 years old, so for them to come up with an improvement kit, it says buckets about the company to me.
Another big difference to me is the longevity of major components. Transmission, diff, engine are all built to last 10,000+ hours without service. I've noticed as well that tracks on these aren't uncommon to last 6000hrs (we have one with 6500hrs, which I'm pretty sure has the factory tracks. We bought it with 3000hrs and they weren't new then). Correct me if I'm wrong but my observation is that quadtracks only tend to last 3000hrs and they're more expensive to replace.
Swinging hitch makes a huge difference with the 2 track stuck issue. In poor conditions you could usually go forward or backward but turning could be an issue. My dad had gotten stuck in a corner more than once, prior to having a steerable hitch. | |
