Subject: RE: CAT track tractors.

Southeast Washington
We've had A and C series Challengers. The good of the B is it should have updated reaction arm bearings by now but something to check. It is pre Husco valve for hydraulics is a plus. The C series besides watching the reaction arm bearings and being aware of them is the now defunct Husco valves which seem to be obsoleteand have to be replaced by another system that will seethe 4 valves for about $2400 which is cheaper than two calls to replace 2 Husco controllers.

Otherwise sound tractors. Our 865C has lasted 15 years pulling heavy air drills in steep hills. I consider it the benchmark to compare any of the newer tractors to and so far the competition hasn't been able to deliver nor has Agco until the Fendt models. That is the reason our main pulling tractor has remained in our farm that long because nothing is better. We have a couple quads that can be used for backup but they won't pull what the Challenger will in big hills.
