| I have a 21 F-250 I ordered new with the 7.3 and 4;30 gears. On the road empty I get close to 15 but that's driving 70 or under. The faster you go the more it takes. Took one 50 mile trip at 60 or under it got over 16. Overall average is just under 14. Now if you need to go 80 mph, I'd have no actual idea but more for sure. From what I've read, there's about a mile / gallon difference between 3;55s and 4:30s. Think it well worth the lower gearing. No problem pulling my gooseneck. Truck is rated to tow 18,200# gooseneck and CGVW is 26,000#. | |
