Is it one that the handle unscrews to release the brake as you crank it down? Is the handle free to turn on the threads of the shaft?
Yes and yes I believe that is how they work. It is a brake disc.
Ive had other ones on other machines that after a while they also got more difficult to crank down. I believe they all had the same issues. oil on the brake parts....
