Thumb of Michigan | I have a telly, a little heavier ~17K (NH TM ,7.42) that has a ~23' boom, ~9,000# lift , has crab steer, 4-wheel drive, 25MPH, etc. and I've bought a skid-steer adapter for so I can use everything that I already have. As far as with a lighter one, seems like why have a telly it you're going to have outriggers? Just get a machine that does that. I can't imagine how little the lifting capacity would be with a 5-6,000# machine at 40' would be. It seems to me, outriggers would just move your center point some towards the front of the machine farther.
With my >10K lifting limit, it sure is reduced as I extend the boom. IIRC, about 3,000# at full extension with boom level and about 5,000# at full height. 9,000# is close to pins, boom fully retracked. So, at 40' extended, your lifting capacity might be severely limited. | |
