Subject: RE: Grain Drill: JD 1590 vs 1990CCS or N530C

Farmington, Mo
We went from a single 750 to a 1590 to a 1690 CCS 30’ to now an N530C.

1-yes they will but not as much as you would fear unless you are running trashy bin run seed. Ease of cleaning depends on location of blockage…typically at the “Y” on our drill which are mostly easy to get to.

2-1890/1990 could have sensors on each row. Depending on age, could be a 250 or a 350 monitor or even on a 2600/2630 depending on how the previous owner set it up. Our N530C runs on a Gen 4 4640 display due to the electric seed drive.

3-yes, will work great!

4-should be plenty of wing weight particularly with dual rank machines. Wings won’t have any downforce applied by the fold cylinders…the slots allow for quite a bit of flex both up and down which makes it a very capable machine in rolling ground.

5-tarp is a necessity for the 1890/1990…N530C is water tight.

6-yes on the front row

7-not sure if I’d recommend using any of them in the rain.

Hope that helps…we love ours once we figured out the calibration process.
