In a steel cattle trailer I've found Corn Pro to be a quality trailer at half or less the price than a similar aluminum. I guess it depends on how much you use it etc. I would suggest you price a CornPro SG-24-7H. It has 2 center gates. You could probably buy 2 of them for what some of these aluminum stock trailers cost. Steel holds up well on rough roads. Won't look as nice at the sale barn in 10 years but how much is that worth?

I moved some calves between farms with my 14 yr old Corn Pro this afternoon and thinking about what a good piece of equipment that has been. Floor is in great shape, center gate, doors and latches all work much better than on some of the aluminum trailers I've hired when needed to haul a larger load. Some rust but then it matches my 2010 Dodge diesel...

Who would think a 14 year old steel trailer that See's 20 cows a year would be in worse shape than an aluminum trailer that see's 100 cows a week?

Seems “here” the aluminum trailers are a status symbol and the men actually trying to make money with their cows use steel pipe trailers. Know plenty of them moving hundreds of cattle a week across Kentucky.

My brother owns a packing plant, we have unloaded cattle from everything from truck bed cattle racks to brand new pots. The worst darn trailer to get critters out of is a punched side Wilson. Not sure why anybody would want to own one, especially seeing the damage an angry kick will do to them. Aluminum pipe trailers are a joke too.

Aluminum cracks and corrodes, it’s not some magic way to avoid maintenance. The cost today is unjustifiable if you’re in this business to make money.
