There are no no till rippers. Thats the point of them. I run my 5 shank DMI 500 about 15" and usually rip every field once every 4/5 years. You do it enough and it really softens up the ground I usually do after soybeans as it is dry which is the only time you should. Look back and you can see a wave lift up and then drop soil back down. I have wings but never use them but would if wanted to mix cornstalk residue. I also have coulters every 15" to get through it. Been a great investment and shows minimal wear. But as Chris said if not done before it's going to have chunks! We also have had it stuck and bent top hook on quick hitch trying to get it out of ground!
