I would use a rod or chain the appropriate size and a turnbuckle. With the turnbuckle you can always adjust it.
I used a ratchet strap for a smaller door. Grind a notch so it won’t slip. Once, twice a year I take up one notch.first few years. Decade later that’s still the “fix”
