ASinglet09 - 11/30/2023 23:55 Have a shed that has double swinging doors (Wood framed and steel skinned) and over the years they have sagged, one more than the other. Have to pry up under the bottom where the 2 doors come together to get the top door latch into its catch. Jacked the door up and Put a 2x diagonal from the top hinge side down to the bottom of the opposite side and as soon as let the jack down it sagged back down, not as much but enough still didn't function correctly. Appears it is almost 3" low where the 2 doors come together. Only open these doors few times a year so hasn't been a priority, but worked on them today and figured I would ask to see if anyone had a better remedy. Your repair problem started when you jacked it up and tried to brace it. Jacking it up took all the play out of the top hinge. When the jack was released, all that play showed up if the fact that you saw some improvement but not enough. You need to either pull it up from the top hinge ON THE DOOR (not the door frame) or over correct it lifting from below |
