There doesn't have to be a real meaning. It s just silly stuff or fun stuff IMHO>
Not far from our county seat there is some prairie with a kitchen stove (oven range) siting along the fenced prairie. The oven door is open. It also has a sign there that says "OPEN RANGE!"
Just like the boots on posts, someone had smoothing to display and smile about!
