I should have been more clear. That Covid year (or more in some cases) set back education a LONG ways. That set of kids, especially the lower elementary is going to ripple through their entire education carrier behind in reading and math. Even the hard core Covid lockdown people are starting to admit that.

Gotcha. Different experience here, my kids have had little to no setback from the Covid precautions (don't recall any "lockdowns" around here) and seem to be thriving in their public school, by all objective and subjective measurements. Kinda reminds me of what my grandpa used to say, "its always the same guys who are last with planting and harvest regardless of the weather or breakdowns." |
