 Nunn CO | Hello all,
I recently bought a new F350. I just had a custom flatbed made for it by a local fab shop. They are ok welders but not great electricians. These new trucks have sensors in all the tail lights for merging, backup, weight, etc. They just wired the bed lights into the trial plug, which "works" however, I now have two problems. First the truck thinks a trailer is hooked up and the computer is harassing me all the time. Second all the backup sensors and merging sensors have to be cycled off briefly when starting up. I know Ford will flash the computer to solve this but I cant get any of our local three locations on the phone. Everyone is buying cars and they are weeks and weeks out. So, do I dare take a new car to a general mechanic and have them re-wire it and flash the computer or is that a bad idea? Void warrantee or anything?
Thanks, | |
