Subject: Moral dilemma…….sort of.

Ludington/Manistee MI area
Back in July I had issues with a tractor and to do some of the troubleshooting it involved tools and time I didn’t have. I took the easy route and had it hauled to the dealer. Ends up the tech that go assigned to it was fairly clueless. Deck on my gooseneck is junk but am waiting to get the frame of trailer blasted and repainted before redecking trailer. So called this distant neighbor that does custom hauling. We met and I was there when it was loaded to go to dealer I drove it on stuffed the rag down the exhaust, put a thin ratchet strap around hood panels, and another around the cab so the doors couldn’t come open. Tractor made it to dealer unharmed. Finally got the call tractor is done so I test drove it and called the trucker. He picks it up and on his way home the right cab door pops open and shatters the glass out of the window on the door. He called and told me about it. I was a little miffed he didn’t offer to take care of it but didn’t say anything. This Monday I called local glass shop and they come out and measure the window while I was chatting with the tech I could see a little wrinkle in the door frame. Glass tech comes out today and tries putting it in and shatters the replacement glass. They determine the door is too tweaked to get the glass to seat.

How do I proceed? When it was a piece of glass I was not happily but come to terms with eating the damage now that it’s a door I’m less impressed yet. He’s sorta a shade tree jack of all trades.

Local body shops are lazier than house cats so that’s out

It doesn’t help it’s a tractor I’m just lukewarm about and have had occasional thoughts of replacing .
