I was faced with the fluorescents going bad and now I just replace the 8 foot ones that I have with led's . It's a simple process like others said, simply rewire them bypassing the ballasts. My ballasts were going bad along with the bulbs so it was a no brainer for me. A lot easier than replacing the whole fixture.
