We run a Gerringhof corn head on a red combine (8250)Most CIH dealers in this area sell Gerringhof. We plant with RTK & a 16 row planter. Combine has “Headsight”

We ran 12 row corn head till last year when we switched back to an 8 row. 8 row just works better for us. Even with RTK 16 / 12 didn’t always work out, especially around drainage ditches or opening fields. Our yields our somewhat higher than yours but even in 1/4 mile fields we needed a grain cart to make around& in 1/2 miles we were filling a 1,000 bu cart every round plus some still on the combine. Are fields are scattered out so for most moves we were having to cart the head. Still can pick as much & depending on moving more with the 8 than we could with the 12

JMO, but h CIH hasn’t made a decent head since the 1000 series heads. That included 32xx, 34xx, & 44xx heads that we have owned. Don’t even know of a NH head in this area to compare to but I think the newer red & yellow heads are basically the same heads

Other corn head we considered before going to the Gerringhof was Drago but a dealer is quite ways away & from what I’ve heard support wasn’t that great. We’ve got 4 Gerringhof dealers within a 30 minute drive
