Which is what these guys do. They also explain what you said about excess electricity, as it can happen with these. As near as I've found out so far, the engine doesn't idle down. It shuts off and you run batteries until the charge level drops to a set voltage. Haven't watched everything so for, so still learning. I'm not promoting these trucks, but to me, if it ever gets to where EVs are mandated, and if you are going to get a heavy truck, this makes more sense than trying to rely on batteries charged up before the work day. You wouldn't have to stop to charge anything. Same thoughts with passenger EVs, a hybrid seems more useful than total EV.
As for me, I have no plans to go ev until I am absolutely forced to. |
