It reminds me of how a city person thinks grain farming is. Work for a couple of weeks in the spring to plant the crop and then a couple of weeks in the fall to harvest it.

I don't live in a city and I thought it is that way in Illinois? Lol. Kinda joking, but if you don't own a sprayer and you run your combine through the dealer every year and don't have bins, what do you do if you are only corn and beans? These guys might be the minority anymore, but the county fairs and such in the cornbelt sure seem to have a lot more participation than they do in other parts of the country. Not knocking it if you can swing it, but is there any of these guys left? We used to have guys here that only farmed wheat, were here from May until October, and headed southwest the rest of the year. Last one I know of died 20+ years ago.
