I will have to disagree. For me to run 500 hundred mommas in this area I would have to lease 10 to 15 different farms over a 20 mile range so that would be that many different setups to maintain, fences, all kinds of good stuff. But I would do it but in reality one would be better off to take the amount of money to set that operation up and invest it in something else. I bet you make more than 100k a year so it just seems like to me you expect the cow calf guy to take it on the chin so you can buy your feeders?
I use to be the cow /calf guy. The juice just isn’t worth the squeeze. I don’t expect anyone to take it on the chin to provide me with cheap feeders.
If I can buy calves year in and year out cheaper then I can raise them for why should I have cows?
Problem is lots of cow calf guys do it for the life style.
