IA | I plant all my corn and beans with a 3600 16/32 row kinze. The advantages are for notill corn you will have plenty of weight to get seed in the ground in any conditions, and if something breaks it the field, you basically have a whole set of spare parts on the front units. Now the disadvantages. It is hard to see what the back units are doing with the pusher units up front. For corn I take all the front boxes off and leave them in the shed. If your planning on running row cleaners, do yourself a favor and just put a clean sweep system on right out of the gate. Even if you raise the planter all the way up on the post, the pusher units make it harder to adjust row cleaners, they are just in the way. Now, ideally and eventually I'll have a dedicated corn planter, but that is down the road a few years. It certainty works, it will grow corn no problem but just things to be aware of. I do love it for notill beans though. Good planters all around, and you can make them as simple or techy as you want with all the aftermarket stuff out there. Also, it takes more then 15 minutes to switch it from corn to beans. Mines a 32 row so I have to slide the hitch, move markers, switch all the units out and pin row cleaners up.
