I agree. Yes genetics have gotten some better but last Year was nothing like 2012. It wasn’t as hot and what little rain I got was spread out pretty evenly. I have a 30 acre field that went .75 bpa in ‘12. The same field did 83 bpa this year. It wasn’t all genetics. It was being spoon fed little bits of rain.
