Floyd County, Iowa
I've been sort of following the guys with their Edison Motors (diesel/electric). They have to deal with battery weight, battery placement, battery heat, as well as a host of other things that pop up with prototype development they're doing with trucks, new build and retrofit.
They built a new log hauler truck from the ground up, and retro'd a vintage KW to diesel electric. Sheds light on what it takes to design, produce, and refine them.
Here's a link, in case you're interested in this stuff.
