NW Ohio, near Findlay | I have a used 7000 pound, 2 post lift, that I installed a few years ago. Works good, however at times I wish it was a 4 post. A 4 post lift is so much easier to lift a car just for a simple oil change. On mine, you have to get down on creeper, position arms perfect, and be very careful. Chrysler mini vans with stow and go seating with the wells next to lift points, real pain to get perfect. Pickup trucks with real frames, and higher no problem. Again, all depends on what you are working on. Interior work, get the 4 post, brake jobs, maybe a 2 post. Can be done, but have to use a little jack to get tires off, but advantage is you have a work bench next to your work.
If your old and have problems getting down and rolling around about a half hour to get arms perfectly in alignment, then get the four post. And don't trust anybody helping you, you make the final inspection before lifting, yes we dropping one, lucky wasn't too high. | |
