I'd agree with that, forget the JD platform head and buy a draper that fits.
As for the corn head, if you're committed to the JD corn head (not going want to trade it any time soon) just get out the torch and welder. Get a headsight kit for auto header height and steering. Lankota has the single point hyd coupler you need.
