Subject: RE: 750 drill rebuild stand

Faunsdale, AL
I had to replace the rear rockshaft on my 1560. Laid out two sheets of plywood and set drill down on them so that rank of openers was squarely on the two sheets but they were far enough forward to clear the fronts of the tires.

Then the only difficulty was supporting the whole thing while taking loose the center support. I rigged up a come-along and hung its snatch block from the rear platform. It was none too strong but it got the job done to lower it down. Then I moved the come along to the side and anchored to a barn post and slid the whole gang and the two sheets of plywood out beside the drill. I swapped everything just working on the ground but you could put them on a trailer etc to get the height better for comfort.

Put it back on the plywood and winched it back under the drill and back up so I could bolt the center bearing back up to hold it. My cheap come-along was overloaded lifting it back up and I bent the rear platform front edge a little because of how I had the snatch block hooked to it.
