Nw Iowa | MDrives use a much higher rear end ratio, in the mid 2’s are common. You can not base rear end ratio solely. As have been said you need the full equation. It used to be delivery trucks had higher ratio rear ends ( lower ratio number) so they could get road speed but didn’t need torque because they were always starting on hard surface, but were absolutely horrible pulling out of the field. Now some of these combos have low end torque and than run down the road well. The Mack Mdrive have been great farm trucks because they seem to have both. | |
