You are also a brave man to drain oil and walk away. I know of someone who took a phone call mid oil change and never tightened the plug. It did not end well. I always think of that when I change oil.


Before I left the oil bucket was still under the tractor, the engine key, oil plug , oil plug wrench and oil filter was sitting on the step right outside the cab door. No way I’d missed them before starting it :-) .


Local guy drained oil on his skid loader. He got a call his kid was in car accident. While he was gone a neighbor *who had permission to borrow skid loader* came over. Ignored oil pan, rear open, top up.. drove it. Ignored lights, ruined engine. Claimed it was not his fault. “The keys were on the bench next to the new oil filter”

I TRY to hook trickle charger to every battery. At least once mid Jan for a few hours. I bring two cheap, lite chargers, set up, do stuff, move. Decade is not unusual. I really think it helps. A few I disconnect negative terminals.
