You are also a brave man to drain oil and walk away. I know of someone who took a phone call mid oil change and never tightened the plug. It did not end well. I always think of that when I change oil.
Before I left the oil bucket was still under the tractor, the engine key, oil plug , oil plug wrench and oil filter was sitting on the step right outside the cab door. No way I’d missed them before starting it :-
) .
Battery lasted over 10 years.
