I really think costs have come down enough on PV that subsidies are no longer "Needed". But, sort of like crop insurance, the money is there so why not take it?
On the other hand, Nuke that has been in operation for six decades still "Needs" subsidies. Perhaps you can answer that?
REA, cell towers, ethanol plants, and a bunch of other modern conveniences or facilities needed subsidies to get a kick start, so I'm at a loss to see why some are so dead set against kick starting something that will pay such big dividends in the near future.
