| They don’t work well in mud. Running a HSD going 10 mph everything between the disk is airborne and needs to flow, mud does not. We run it slower around 7 mph but if it’s too muddy the rubber roller scrapers fill with mud and stalks. Then we park it and go get the old sunflower. This is in the fall only. Our ground won’t warm up in the spring without some tillage on the corn stalks in the fall. Frost will take out the damage of running when muddy. | |
