| Hello,
I recently made a post about where to put the block heater on a 4-71 Detroit. Unfortunately, I realized the machine I have actually has a 3-53 vice a 4-71. With that in mind all the block heaters I can find for this motor talk about removing the water jacket access plate and installing the block heater.
Can anyone describe to me where the water jacket access plate is located on these motors? I found a bolt pattern on the front of the engine that kinda matches. It is pictured below.
Is this the spot?
