I'd expect to see more. Solar is cheap power. Batteries getting cheaper to the point where NG fired peaker plants are being canceled because they can't compete on cost. Roof top solar is popular here in AZ. Many of the guys that have it only regret that they are limited in how much they can install and still remain grid connected. If it pays for individual installs, I can't see why economies of scale wouldn't make commercial, large scale installations pay even better. and big new projects going up bear that out. There are a few huge canal projects that carry water to dry parts of AZ. A pilot project is going on now, that will use PV panels to shade the canal and prevent evaporation losses of the precious water. Win, win. Other, more massive projects are being built on land that currently only supports invasive salt cedar. That also seems a good fit.
