I put a roll up door in the side of a van trailer.  I didn’t realize how much the trailer relies on the two vertical supports I removed from the side.  I built framework for the door opening from 1”x 2” tubing.  We ended up installing a length of I-beam under the opening to support the floor.  I can get a picture and post it up.
