Woops, I meant half. A V belt receives driving force on the two sides that make up the V. The top & bottom don't touch anything so don't transmit any force. A V belt on a flat pulley receives force only on the bottom of the belt, the other three sides don't touch anything so can't transmit any torque.
Can I mount a V belt sheave on a Farmall H belt pulley?
