David, we had the opposite issue on our NH TV140 this summer.....couldn't shut the heat off (except for shutting off the valve on the engine). The control felt fine and pulling the cab roof off showed that the cable was operating the lever on the valve, but we found that the inside of the valve was stripped out and staying in the wide-open position. I wonder if yours might be stuck closed?

I wouldn't be surprised if yours has the same valve since your cab is pretty much the same as an early Ford Genesis.....at least I think it is. A quick look on the AP air site is a little inconclusive (they don't show a heater valve for the 55) but the one for the Genesis is the same as our TV140.
