Corn shredder, specifically a Rosenthal # 40 is what someone told me, which was before my time, although the one in the picture is a pretty late model; 1940's. All the rest I've seen are on steel wheels. I've attached a picture of one that was being used on an Amish farm in the area. The wagon of shocks pulls along side the shredder and bundles are pitched on the tray on top of machine. The bundles don't always feed into the machine like they should and as a kid I have memories of a lot of old time farmers with missing fingers, hands and arms as a result of tangling with a corn shredder. Also a picture of the more familiar looking, but older corn shredder, this one is a US Automatic Feeder husker shredder that eliminated pushing the the bundles in by hand.
