North East Wimmera district of Victoria. | Re attending same school. My grandmother, my Dad [born 1896], me [born 1944] and our children [ 1971, 1974, & 1977] attended the one room school 2.5 miles from our farm. It closed for lack of numbers 1985 - when our middle child was High school age. There were four in his class, so when they were to go to High school, numbers dropped from 12 to 8 . G'ma and Dad walked, I rode a bike [ older sisters - horses] and our kids got driven! G'ma was daughter of original selector - selected land 1874. |
