If you are planning on expanding volume and acres it doesn't appear that you have any too much wet holding? is it the silo and the flat bin by the silo? maybe consider using one of the bigger bins on other sides of the dryer as wet holding and putting an entirely new dump area and leg that can fill into those bins. Or if want more storage capacity a new wet holding bin or two by the new dump and leg. Keep your current scale/drive area as is except putting an overhead loadout bin over scale for loading out? We have 2 26,500 bushel hoppers for wet holding and love their flexibility. really like 2 wet bins for different moistures of corn and for turning the corn every day or two to keep it fresh. in bean harvest if there are lines at Cargill we will sometimes use one a surge bin so can keep combining with one truck while other 2 just haul to the plant. also store corn in them at the end of harvest. store oats in one during oat harvest as a surge bin similar to corn and i also have them tied to our cover crop seed cleaner and mixer so will have rye, wheat, oats, etc in them depending on the mix.
More wet holding is in the 3-5yr plan. But the last couple years the corn has dried down so fast while we harvest the beans that drying has not been a bottleneck. We also put a large dryer in when we upgraded a few years ago to help with having less wet storage. Right now we have about 16k bu of wet storage and the dryer will do around 2k at 5pts if we need it to.
