I wonder what ones like your Grandmother, my grandfather born in 1880's would think of the way Canadians act and complain and protest today.
I expect they were happy to get a meal and some firewood for heat.
Fwiw GF, Dad and I all attended same 1 room school ,1 teacher...It closed in 1967 with advent of Central Schools,buses, separate grades,gym,ect.
Last 15 yrs. our neighbourhood has disappeared as it once was...school closed,church closed,community center closed...most old family neighbours gone | |
