I would keep scale and just dump-in a different place. As I read it you want to keep scale but cut up deck. Having grain up in a scale pit is kind of a nightmare as far as new scales are all electronic and grain dust, rats in a scale pit to me would be a lot of trouble.


We have only ever had one issue with scale system and that was from a lightning strike. Otherwise I don’t think I have been down there is 20 years or more.

I would like to keep the scale if we have room on the other side, but real estate gets tight there and I am not sure we can get a direct line from the pit to the leg and not have things really in the way and stepping over stuff to dump trucks. That an a deep pit with an auger up above ground like a lot of designs would be tricky. I am not sure there is enough room to be able to pull the flighting out around the bins, leg, silo, and hopper behind the leg…
