Illinois Heartland | We use a Great Northern countertop 8 oz kettle popper. Essentially a smaller version of a movie theater popper.
Have tried several types of popcorn and oils, but always go back to the Jolly Time or Orville Redenbachers “All In One”packets that have the popcorn, oil, and seasoning.
Key to the best popcorn is coconut oil and the Flavocol salt which is in the “All In One” packets! Always put the oil in first to the heated pot, then add the popcorn followed by the salt.
Your original question however was about best Microwave popcorn. We’ve tried several and won’t buy anything but Orville Redenbachers. Tastes best, less unpopped kernels, and doesn’t have the nasty smell when you open the bag.
Microwave popcorn is Ok, but once you try the kettle popper, nothing compares.
