Not arguing, but why do you say one can't pour in 1. oil, 2. salt, 3. popcorn, in a stovetop popper?

That's how I do it with my solid copper Whirley Popper, occasionally. We actually don't use salt, so I most often don't add any salt. 

Or, maybe I don't know what you mean by a "stove top" popper?
