Subject: RE: When electricity came to the farm

Sac & Story county IA
Our house was built in 1918, as far as I can tell was wired for 32 volt DC Delco. The power coops set their borders first so no other company could not encroach. Our farm is near the intersection of 3 coops. Our farm had electric for 5 years before farms to the interior of the service area. Much to the dismay of those people.

Our company has done a decent job of continuous upgrade of lines. Lots of big power using grain setups, close. I would have plenty power for an electric car about 11 1/2 months of the year. At 4 cents per mile, that sure looks attractive.
