I've used "air-shocks" on the rear axle for years on my F-150's. I leave 20 lbs in them all the time for a smoother ride when empty. When I hook up the trailer with a heavy load they get 50 lbs. I've done this on three trucks in the last 20 years and never had one regret. Best money spend as far as I'm concerned. Monroe brand is what I use. Can go months on end and there's always 20 lbs in them. No leaks.
