Isn't the .18 cents just the spread from Dec to March futures? Whether you're .10 under the Dec or .18 under the March, you're net price is the same. Minus any actual roll fees of course, which are typically a couple cents.
Danger is you lose the 18 cent spread as Mar shrinks back to Dec price.
