Frost may go deeper but it thaws faster. Got the t-shirt leaving untouched stalks one fall on hundreds of acres, never doing that again with frost a foot down in the middle of June. It will be black even if I have to drag a ripper through the water (see recent Larson Farms videos). Got that t-shirt as well with farm best-ever corn on corn yield the following year.

Drove through Iowa and Illinois last week and untouched stalks are visibly decayed. That simply does not happen here. One example of how things are different around the corn belt. One size does not fit all, we each have our unique challenges.
